Dr. Paul has been well trained in his specialty at the University of California at Los Angles where he obtained his certification in Pediatric Dentistry. While at UCLA, he also received a Postdoctoral Certificate of Study in Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities, earned a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology (separate from the pediatric program) and was the Chief Resident during his final year. During this time, Dr. Paul took special interest in behavior management techniques as he felt that this was the preferable method over sedation in treating the majority of apprehensive children. Dr Paul feels that his communication and behavior management skills allow him to treat many children conservatively where others may choose to use sedation and/or just postpone treatment.

Dr. Paul Seo, born and raised on Oahu, graduated from Iolani High, attended Northwestern University in Chicago where earned his Bachelor of Art in Integrated Science. He then attended Pacific School of Dentistry and gained his Doctor of Dental Science.

He then advanced his training in Los Angeles and traveled to different areas of the country gaining knowledge of different people and cultures before returning to Oahu. This long experience has gained Dr. Paul a patience and skill at communicating with patients and parents , to make them feel comfortable.  Dr. Paul is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Hawaii Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Hawaii Dental Association, and the California Dental Association

Shirley has been with Dr. Paul since the start of his practice. Her 25 plus years of experience is invaluable and it is reassuring to know that there has been this consistency over the years. Shirley is very knowledgeable and willingly helps patients, parents, and co-workers in any way she can. As a widow who raised three children on her own and a grandmother of 5, she has the ultimate experience in being around children. Shirley has warmth, compassion, and understanding for the children and their parents. Kids gravitate to her and feel comfortable having her there. Parents have benefited from her knowledge and helpfulness. Former employees are appreciative of her willingness to educate them well enough to eventually become office managers at other dental offices. And if this isn’t enough, she continues to excel by wanting to learn more at every opportunity. Major highlights were her Associate Degree in 2000 and being nationally certified as a “Billing Specialist” in 2015.

Gwen has a vast knowledge base in the field of dentistry as she has accumulated over 19 years of experience in the profession. She has been previously employed in a family dental clinic, a cosmetic general dental office, and a pediatric dental office. While all aspects of dentistry are interesting to her, she finds working with kids is very enjoyable and fulfilling. We are fortunate that she joined our team to share her knowledge and talents. She does exceptionally well greeting and that working with kids to ensure that their appointments go smoothly. She is meticulous in keeping the equipment and work areas properly set up, maintained, cleaned, and sterilized to OSHA standards. Gwen thrives on making every child’s visit a great one. On Gwen’s time off, she enjoys spending time with her 2 children and husband.
